Training


The students we support often come from economically poor families. These families are not in a position to provide good exposure to their children. Nor are they able to properly back the students’ educational needs. Almost 50% of the students we support, have not travelled outside Bangalore. Many have never boarded a train, nor touched computers or interacted with accomplished individuals, etc. These students however are bright. For their merit to translate into good performance, the students require exposure, which builds confidence, broadens their mind and helps to set higher goals and aspirations. It is our endeavour to see that all these inputs are given to them at appropriate times in their academic life. We try to promote this by organising various activities.

Training is imparted to the following groups:

Summer Camps for New students:

Objectives of Summer Camp

  • 35% of students are from Kannada (regional language) medium and need to learn English to cope up with college studies.
  • Cope up with PUC syllabus,
  • Implement study methods like thorough reading, solving all questions and problems given at the end of each chapter.
  • The camp provides a smooth transition for disadvantaged students before they begin college. Ongoing trainings will be conducted for these students throughout the year on Sundays, to ensure the effectiveness of the summer camps.

Summer camps are held in the following centers namely: Banashankari, Yeshwantapur and Jeevan BimaNagar. These are held for the students entering their first PUC, these summer camps intend to prepare the students to adjust to college life. The training comprised of Spoken English and communication improvement classes for 3 hours.

B.com students & Diploma students: Students studying in B. Com are attached to Chartered accountants offices firms. They get access to learn Tally and would get hands-on experience working with these companies.

Engineering students:Exposure to industries help students gain practical knowledge which cannot be achieved through reading theory

Announcements :

1. NURTURE MERIT TEST to those students, who have taken SSLC exam during April 2010-11, who expect to score more than 80% in that examination and whose family annual income is less than Rs.1.00.000/-, on 17th of April 2011. Those students, who qualifies the criteria and who are interested, may contact Prerana’s office [Contact NO-08065337823/26601105] and register their names and other details on or before 31st March 2011.

2.ONE MONTH ORIENTATION PROGRAMME for all those students, who have qualified in our NMT conducted for students studying in SSLC/9th/7th std to be held during the months of April/May 2011.

3.ONE MONTH TRAINING PROGRAMME for Prerana students studying in 1st and 2nd Year PU Commerce during the year 2010-11, in the months of April/May 2011.
