1) Pavitra J

Pavitra lives in a small house and her father is a borewell repairer, and mother is a housewife. Pavitra’s two sisters are physically challenged. Pavitra has scored 91% in 12th std. She completed B.Com from Bangalore with 88% and stood 1st rank to the college. She stood 5th rank to Bangalore University. She cleared her CPT with 145 out of 200. She cleared both stages of IPCC Exam in First attempt . Currently she is doing her C.A internship. She comes as a volunteer on Sundays and takes Tally classes to BCom students of Prerana.

2) Amrith Shandily M

Amrith is living in a rented very bare house. There is no fixed income for the family. His father is suffering from kidney problem since 3 years and they have already spent Rs.32 lakhs on his treatment. Mother does tailoring work at home. He has scored 96.8% in 10th std and now he is studying in BNMIT college of Engineering, Bangalore and has scored 91% in B.E-I year.

3) Sowmya K

Sowmya lives in a very small house and her father was working as a mechanic and mother a housewife. Sowmya scored 86% in 10th std and she completed 86% in 10th stdfrom BMS College for Women, Bangalore. Then she did her MSc from Bangalore University and stood 1st rank to the University. She was awarded with 6 gold medals. She stood 1st in all India test for selection candidates for PhD, and now is a junior Research Fellow at Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore.

4) Harsha Prabha E

Harsha Prabha lives with her family in a rented house by paying rent of Rs.1500/- per month. Her father is alcoholic and has deserted. Mother sells clothes on the footpath and recently she has been unwell with depression. That is upsetting the income of the family. Harsha Prabha has scored 98% in 10th std and her Karnataka CET ranking is 340 in Engineering. Currently she is studying in NIIT Institute of Technology, Suratkal, Mangalore and has scored 87% in B.E-I. She got the bank loan. Her elder sister is also brilliant and studying in B.E – IV year now.

5) Udayan U

Udayan is staying in own house. His father is a carpenter and mother is no more. He has scored 92.66% in 10th std and his ranking in Karnataka CET is 64 in Engineering. He studied in RV college, went to Australia for Robotics competitions and won 5th place. He is placed in CISCO with the annual income of 8 lakhs, and now he is with in Cypress Semi conductors since 1 year. He has donated back to Prerana an amount of Rs.5000/-.

6) Rekha B.V

Rekha stays in a small leased house. Her father works in a cloth shop on daily wages and mother is a housewife. Rekha scored 93% in SSLC and currently studying 11th std from PES PU college, Banashankari. Here also she has scored 93% and stood 4th topper to the college. She has got 100 out of 100 both in Business Studies and Accountancy in 11th std.

7) Moula R

Moula earlier was staying in slum area and his father sells slippers and mother is a housewife. Even Moula himself helped his father in his free time. But his interest in education was slowly converted into business during his 9th std. After counseling and mentoring and by providing financial aid he started scoring good marks in his 10th std. Later on he joined Diploma, where Prerana supported him financially. Currently Moula is studying B.E from M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. He has scored 92% in his 2nd year B.E.

8) Shailaja J

Shailaja’s family lives in a small 1 room on 3rd floor. They collect water from ground floor every day. Her father is a carpenter and mother is a housewife. Father is alcoholic. Shailaja struggled a lot , financially, to get admission to the college. She completed her B.Com with 81%. Currently placed with Tally Solutions. Earning Rs.8000/- per month. Recently she donated back to Prerana an amount of Rs. 2000/-. Her brother is also brilliant and is studying B.Com – II scoring 81%.

9) Mohan Kumari S

Mohana’s father was a cloth seller. He has deserted his family. Mother is working in a garment industry as a labour. Mohana has two younger sisters studying in 10th and 4th standard. Mohana appeared for Prathibha Poshak test. She did not qualify in the test. She never stopped attending spoken English classes. Within two months she improved her English. Observing her interest in learning, Prerana extended support. She took diploma in Computer science. She had to travel 2 hours one way to reach the college. Prerana helped her and put her in the college hostel and paid. She completed Diploma. She has joined HAL for a salary of Rs.4000/-. She brought the entire 1st salary to Prerana to donate. Now she got placement in WIPRO Infotech with a salary of Rs.1.6 lakhs per annum.

10) Ashwini Somashekar

Ashwini stays in a small rented house and her father is a weaver in a factory and mother is a house wife. Ashwini completed her B.E from R.V college of Engineering with 97% and stood topper to the college. Her sister is also studying in 4th year B.E in BNMIT College. Ashwini got placement in TCS with Rs.3.6 lakhs salary per annum joining in the month of September 2011.
